It’s a bad time to be in the “old media” business
There was a really interesting piece in this morning’s Globe and Mail about the (primarily economic) difficulties that “old media” (i.e. newspapers, television, and radio) are having as of late. Hopefully there are enough people working for these organizations (or that get hired by these organizations) that have a sense of what “new media” (i.e. the internet) can do to help keep their businesses afloat.
If you’re running an “old media” company and want some suggestions, email me, I’ve got loads of ideas.
Is the size of the stimulus package keeping you up nights?
[There's supposed to be a nice graphic here illustrating just how f'ing big the various stimulus packages are, but the stupid National Post has decided to upload the file in a ridiculously archaic file format that no piece of software on my computer - nor anything readily available to me - can open or convert, so all that I have to provide is the link to the picture. If anyone can convert it to a jpg or some other common file format I would be most appreciative]
