In the previous post, I referred to the awesome view from my office and lab. Here’s an example of said view (unfortunately, I couldn’t find any current photos …. so very, very green it’s tough to get any work done)

I know, I know, it’s been a loooong time since my last post. I’ve been working my tail off collecting data and learning to code Visual Basic. Anyway, I was blobbing around on flickr looking and happened upon a rather nice photo of Middlesex College at UWO. It reminded me that I’m lucky enough to have such a nice campus to look at (particularly from my SWANK eighth floor office ….

Better Late Than Never

I know I said that I would post my thoughts on “Fahrenheit 9/11” a few days ago and I didn’t. Well, as sometimes happens, I got kind of busy. But, here at last, my thoughts about Michael Moore’s latest opus ….

Let me first say that I am no fan of the Bush administration, and would be more inclined to believe something coming out of Michael Moore’s mouth than something that came out of Bill O’Reilly’s mouth. That being said, there were times during “Fahrenheit 9/11” when I felt like defending the Bush administration. I know Moore doesn’t hide the fact that he has some very strong opinions. Nor does he deny that his films have a certain amount of bias in them. However, this was taking it a bit far. It seemed that he was about two steps away from supporting that crazy theory that the 9/11 attacks were, in fact, orchestrated by the Bush administration. I know that some members of the administration (and some former members who now run the World Bank) have, in the past, supported some rather megalomaniacal ideas and organizations, but I find it hard to believe that they would be, in any manner, shape or form, involved in the sort of atrocities that occurred on 9/11. I even found myself wondering, as the film went on, whether Moore had, to be somewhat flippant about it, finally flipped his biscuit. I don’t think he has, but the fact that I was wondering may speak to the (sometimes) wackiness of the argument he put forth in the film.

Now for a little fun …… this is a hoot. Particularly if you’re bald (like me).

THE FIRST POST

with one comment

I understand that the first post should be something grand, something insightful, at least something more than “I have to put at least one post up before I go to bed, right?”. Well, unfortunately, this isn’t one of those magnificent, earth-shattering, world-changing kind of posts. I just wanted to get something up so anyone who happens to stumble across my wee little blog in the middle of the night (well, middle of the night here) will have something to read. Enjoy

Should I add a link too? Why not. I happened upon this earlier and it had me laughing for waaaay too long.

Tomorrow ….. I finally saw Fahrenheit 9/11 (I know, I know ….) and now you’ll get to hear what I thought.
