Wedding Countdown Challenge – Day 27

leave a comment »

She has introduced me to some really wonderful people. I don’t want to include a list of names (for fear of forgetting and unintentionally offending someone) but there are people whom Katie has known for years on the list, there are people she met in RCIA, there are people she met through work, there are family members. All in all, a bunch of really good eggs.

Wedding Countdown Challenge – Day 28

I love that Kasia has brought me back to the Church (or should that be “The Church”?). There wasn’t a lot of pressure. She didn’t yell and scream. She didn’t drag me to church every weekend (although I’m sure some days it felt that way to her). All in all, she was quite gentle about it. If you’d have asked me 3 or 4 or 10 years ago if I’d be an enthusiastic (albeit not all that outwardly enthusiastic) Catholic, I’d have said, “Oh, probably not”. I’m glad I was wrong. Thanks, sweetheart!!

Kasia is such a cute sleeper!! I can’t get enough of seeing her snuggled under the covers (always pulled right up to her chin) sleeping away. Even her attempts to resist getting up are pretty darn cute πŸ™‚

Wedding Countdown Challenge – Day 30

This one’s a little about me, too.

I love that after five years together Kasia and I have yet to have a fight. Sure we argue and bicker from time to time (I’d wonder if we didn’t), but we have yet to yell and scream at one another. I know she gets mad at me, angry at me, frustrated with me, irritated with me, wants to throw something at me, wants to smack me, wants to yell at me, wants to hang up on me (probably more often than I know about), but she hasn’t done any of that. We’ve always managed to work through our differences in a (relatively) peaceful manner.

And the only times either of us ends up sleeping on the couch is when one of us is snoring too loudly or thrashing about too much πŸ˜‰

Wedding Countdown Challenge – Day 31

Since Kasia decided to gush about one of my physical characteristics in her update today, I’m going to do the same.

I love her behind (and I don’t mean, “I love it when she lets me walk ahead of her”). I love her rear end. That’s all I’m going to say because that’s not the kind of thing I discuss in a public forum – but I will gladly spend hours telling Kasia how much I admire her posterior.

Given that tomorrow is Christmas and I move across the border on Friday, I may have to wait until Saturday to post a mega 3 day update.

Another thing that I love about Kasia is that she has helped (and, to be honest, still helps) me feel better about myself.

The most obvious example of this is that, for as long as I can remember, I really didn’t feel that I deserved to have good things happen to me. Not that I expected bad things to happen to me, but I didn’t feel I deserved some of the good things that I had (like Kasia). In fact, for the first few months that we were dating I would get very emotional if she even mentioned that I do deserve good things. That doesn’t happen anymore. It’s pretty rare for me to even think that I don’t deserve good things.

I can’t even begin to find the words to express how thankful I am for this, sweetie. πŸ™‚

Wedding Countdown Challenge – Day 33

In a comment over at my sweetie’s blog, Jaibee set out a challenge for both of us:

There have been a lot of blog postings about things wedding-related. My challenge to you, to help prepare you for this sacrament which will change your life forever, is to β€” from now until the day of your wedding β€” post once a day something about your fiancΓ© (why you love him, what characteristics you find particularly endearing, etc.) Something positive, and something about this man whom you are about to give your entire self to. I would also recommend this to the Canuck, to do on his blog. Even if it is only a sentence right before bed when you are about to pass out, to help focus not on the stress of the day-to-day and the last minute details, but to re-focus yourselves, each day, on the reason for all the plans.
Go! πŸ™‚Β

So here goes:

I love my sweetie’s laugh. I cannot get enough of it. It is so genuiine, open, unaffected, and INFECTIOUS. There can be no mistaking that she finds something funny. It’s just AWESOME πŸ™‚
